Everything you need to know about the iPhone SE 2022 and the iPad Air 2022

Apple has come out with their first new set of products this year. The iPad Air and the iPhone SE were announced during this week’s Spring Apple Event. As well as these two exciting products, Apple also announced a new colour for the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro (Alpine Green), the Mac Studio, and the IOS 15.4. In this blog, we'll focus on the two products we at NextGen are most excited about. The iPhone SE and the iPad Air.

iPhone SE series 2022

Apple has announced the brand-new iPhone SE which is coming out on the 18th of March. The new Apple phone will be the first in the SE series to have 5G while also having the best battery life in any SE model to date. To sum it up, the iPhone SE 2022 is an affordable iPhone 13.

Created within line with the previous iPhone SE phones, the SE 2022 has a retro-looking display with its 4.7-inch display. Built with durable, aerospace-grade aluminium and glass design, similar to that of the iPhone 13, the iPhone SE has the toughest glass in any smartphone out there. Touch ID has also made a return allowing for an easy and private way to log into your phone, download apps, and make payments.

If you’re wondering whether the performance of the iPhone SE 2022 will take a hit as the phone is smaller and cheaper than the iPhone 12 or iPhone 13 for example let me put your mind at ease. The brand-new SE has the state-of-the-art A15 Bionic Chip built-in. Described,(by Apple) as the ultimate smartphone chip, the A15 Bionic Chip helps makes your iPhone experience better. The powerful 6-core CPU, combined with two high-performance cores and four high-efficiency cores, makes the iPhone SE 2022 1.8x faster. If that didn’t sound impressive enough, the 16-core Neural Engine is capable of 15.8 trillion operations per second.

From Apple's newsroom, Kaiann Drance, Apples VP of Worldwide iPhone Product Marketing stated: “iPhone SE has been an incredibly popular choice with our existing users and for new iPhone customers, thanks to its iconic design, exceptional performance, and affordable price. This year we’ve built the most powerful and durable iPhone SE yet, with better battery life thanks to A15 Bionic, the same chip as our iPhone 13 line-up that also unlocks advanced camera features like Smart HDR 4, Photographic Styles, and Deep Fusion.”

You can pre-order the Apple iPhone SE 2022 here. Prices start from £419.

The iPad Air 2022

Apple has also announced their next iPad, the iPad Air 2022. Equipped with the M1 chip allowing for up to 60% faster performance which helps make switching between apps the easiest it has ever been. The 8-core GPU delivers up to 2x faster graphics, combined with the 16-core Neural Engine, accelerates machine learning resulting in an endless possibility of amazing things you can achieve with your iPad Air.

The iPad Air cameras allow you to capture photos and videos in 4K thanks to the 12MP Ultra-Wide front camera and 12MP Wide back camera. The M1 chips also helps you capture stunning images due to the powerful ISP and Smart HDR.

Like all top of the range devices, the iPad Air 2022 comes 5G ready. Moreover, with WiFi 6, you can connect to the internet quickly, so you never have to miss a moment.

Ease is a main part of the iPad Air 2022. You can use multiple apps at once, write in text fields with Scribble and negative through your device with the power of touch. All thanks to the iPadOS 15. This feature makes the iPad more capable as it allows you to do more. Find out all about the iPadOS 15 here.
